Winter is an entirely unpredictable season, especially here in the UK. Mild and wet winters or long, hard, cold winters are not uncommon, but so often we end up with a mixture of both, so preparation is crucial and here at Direct Storage we can help you with those preparations with a range of winter safety products.

Winter Salt Packs all you need !

In the commercial sector it is vital during times of the year when the ground is icy to always have plenty of grit available. However, it is one thing ordering your grit, but you need somewhere safe to store it all. We stock 2 sizes of commercial grit bins which can store either 175 or 350 litres as well as a smaller “mini grit bin” which is far more suited to domestic use with a 60 litre capacity. In addition we also stock winter grit kits, in which you get the bin, the salt or grit and a scoop or a shovel.

Grit or Salt Bins are manufactured from medium duty polyethylene. A hinged lid protects grit andsalt from the elements. The bins will not discolour or deteriorate from exposure to the elements. Bins are available in a choice of three sizes they are hardwearing and subitable for most outdoor storage environments.

There are some winter conditions, especially heavy falls of snow, when something a little more heavy duty is required and it may be time to call upon the snow plough. Our fork lift snow ploughs, which are designed to fit fork lift trucks, are likely to be a vital tool when the working environment has been covered in large amounts of snow.
